Budget tracking tool
The budget Tracking Tool enables you to view projects funded by CDF and LATF. The tool can also be accessed by SMS by sending a text message to 3002. e.g. constituency#project (westlands#water).
Sample image SODNET launched the Open Budget Index (OBI) Report in February of 2009 in Nairobi inviting participants from Uganda, Sudan, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Kenya. The Index is a measure of the level of accessibility of the budget to the citizen.

CEPA Engagement

At the launch of the Campaign to End Pediatric HIV/AIDS (CEPA) in Johannesburg , advocate Graca Machel urged African leaders to redirect state spending to prevent and treat HIV infections among women and children, Agence France-Presse reports. An estimated "1.8 million of the world's two million [HIV-positive] children" live in Sub-saharan Africa, where "[m]other-to-child prevention and treatment coverage currently averages 30 to 40 percent against a target of 80 percent," the news service writes (10/22).

About SODNET

SODNET is an indigenous organisation, established by Non-governmental Organization (NGOs) workers from Kenya as a facility for reflection and action by local groups on causes and consequences of poverty and disempowerment of communities. It aims at facilitating effective strategic alliances among interested people’s and social movements to influence policy-on issues of social development, in particular on resource management, globalisation and information.
